Oxidation (surface darkening) is a natural process for all silver and brass jewelry and is caused by exposure to water or humidity. You can reduce oxidation by storing your jewelry in dry, air-tight containers. Avoid storing your pieces in the bathroom. You can also use a silver polishing cloth to remove the tarnish on brass and silver jewelry.

Avoid exposing your items to moisture, sweat, and harsh chemicals like chlorine and lotions, which can permanently tarnish metals and damage delicate gems
